Pourquoi choisir des bougies naturelles ?

Why choose natural candles?

In a world where sustainability and respect for the environment are increasingly at the heart of concerns, it becomes essential to make conscious choices, even for everyday objects. Choosing natural candles offers many benefits, both for the environment and for your well-being.
What is a natural and sustainable candle?
Unlike conventional candles that are often made from paraffin wax (a petroleum derivative), Bahia mala candles are made from natural raw materials, such as soy wax, a plant-based alternative to paraffin. Soy wax has many advantages: it is renewable, biodegradable, and burns much cleaner. It emits less soot and toxins, which has the added benefit of being healthier for you and your loved ones.
Natural wicks for clean burning!
We go further in our approach by using cotton wicks, ensuring uniform combustion and without chemical residues. Unlike metal or synthetic wicks, which can release toxic substances when burned, our cotton wicks guarantee combustion that respects indoor air.
Candles handmade in Belgium.
Our candles are the result of quality craftsmanship. Each candle is hand-poured in Belgium. In addition to supporting the local economy, this allows us to guarantee rigorous quality control at each stage of production.
A commitment to fair trade
Through the Peru Collection, we have created a collection that highlights our commitment to fair trade. These candles are made from scraps of wool fabric, hand-woven in the mountains of the Andes. Each piece is unique and reflects the know-how of the Quechua women. We use these recovered fabrics to create candles with colorful patterns, inspired by Andean civilizations. Through this approach, we reduce material waste while supporting local communities.
Choosing natural and sustainable candles is a way to take care of your health and support artisanal communities! An essential aspect that makes each of our candles a little more unique.
